About The Building

Noted starchitect Robert A. M. Stern designed this 42-story concrete and limestone tower in Buckhead. He created a unique building unlike anything else in Atlanta. The building is a poured-in-place concrete structure with precast and castone skin, with punched aluminum and thermal window openings. The parking levels are conventionally reinforced concrete. Levels 1-14 (hotel) are post-tension reinforced concrete. Then on level 15, there is a unique transfer truss system that’s literally the size of some bridge steel you see on roadways. This was to transfer column loads from the narrower portions of the building to the wider portions of the building. There are structural steel girders introduced into a concrete frame to transfer the load of the weight of the narrower building above down to the wider building columns below. Then, above level 15, where the condos are, conventional reinforced concrete was used. What does this mean for buyers? No limitations except for your budget. No need to worry about cutting a post-tension tendon because you’re just cutting through rebar. This is the beauty of the building. You can move bathrooms, create two-story units and whatever else your mind can dream up. There are a 127 hotel rooms and Forty-five 3,000- to 10,600-square-foot residences. Additionally there are 3 Garden Maisonette units on the ground floor of the hotel, completely private with private garages and entrances. Residents have a dedicated entrance off Stratford Road. Most all homes have oversized terraces with fireplaces and grills.
